Lebron wants Libertarian nod for governor

Jordan Carleo-Evangelist is reporting at Capitol Confidential Colonie Republican Nathan Lebron says he will seek Libertarian Party line for governor at the party’s April convention. Lebron is a Harlem native with a master's degree in IT from Harvard and has been involved in Albany County politics in recent years. Lebron said he is convinced neither of the state’s two main political parties are truly interested in change, and that they may in fact be colluding to maintain the status quo. Lebron said his campaign will focus on the way Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo rushed the passage of the SAFE Act through the Legislature last year, and on how the state’s implementation of the Common Core educational standards has stoked outrage among liberals and conservatives, alike. State Libertarian Party Chairman Mark Axinn said Lebron will face at least two other declared candidates -- Richard Cooper of Westbury, Long Island, and Chris Edes of Rochester.
