Roe Jan Ramble Bike Ride

Sep 20, 2014: 7:30 am- 11:59 pm
Second annual Roe Jan Ramble bike tour, which will take participants down rural roads in Ancram, Copake and Hillsdale. The event, sponsored by the three towns, will raise funds to help extend the Harlem Valley Rail Trail from Copake Falls to Hillsdale. While joining the ride is free, participants are encouraged to obtain sponsors who will donate to it. The Ramble is using the services of FirstGiving.com to sign up riders and take donations, which are tax-deductible. To sign up for the ride, or to donate to a rider, go to FirstGiving.com/hvrta, or go to Facebook and search “Roe Jan Ramble.” The tour will help the Harlem Valley Rail Trail Association, a volunteer, nonprofit group, raise funds to pave a section of the rail trail south of Anthony Street in Hillsdale’s hamlet. The money will be combined with a grant of $375,584 awarded last fall for that purpose by the New York State Department of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation.
