WGXC Members: Come Rank New Program Applications

This week and next, WGXC members are invited to help select new programs that will be featured in a limited number of open timeslots on 90.7-FM!
The station has received about thirty applications for new radio programs since launching on the air in February. Current members of WGXC can view and rank the program applications at the Hudson Studio, located at 704 Columbia Street, during regular operating hours of Noon to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday from August 1 to August 10, and until 8:30 p.m. on Monday, August 8. Members can also review and rank applications at the Catskill Community Center on August 7, from 1 to 6 p.m.
The selection process for programs to be aired on WGXC is carefully devised to assure that members have ample input on the station’s content. Once aspiring program hosts submit an application to the station, they are reviewed by WGXC’s programming committee, and made available to members so that they may rank the programs’ suitability for broadcast on the station. Finally, the WGXC Radio Council reviews the applications and member rankings to make a final determination on the shows that will be included in the station’s Program Schedule.
All members of the public are eligible and invited to become members of WGXC. Interested individuals can become members of the station by providing a minimum $25 dollar donation or an equivalent donation of materials or labor. Members are eligible to have input in the development of the station by electing members of WGXC’s Radio Council, ranking radio program applications, and participating in meetings and other decision-making opportunities. WGXC membership benefits include discounted admission to WGXC events, email updates and other perks.
