Palenville retaining wall project faces delay

Mar 06, 2013 6:26 am
William J. Kemble reports in the Daily Freeman state and federal officials have delayed approval of a retaining wall along a 100-foot stretch of the Kaaterskill Creek in Palenville. Design changes are now required before the project can be advertised for bids. Town Supervisor Joseph Leggio said after a Town Board meeting Tues., Mar. 5, the $1.5 million project could still be under way by June, but that engineering plans will require approval by the state Department of Environmental Conservation and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers before work can begin. The wall is planned along the stream bank near Woodstock Avenue behind the Palenville fire station. Read the full story in the Daily Freeman.
