GOP primary turnout light

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney was the clear victor in the New York Republican primary, Tues., Apr. 24, Casey Seller reports in the Times Union. He won the contests held in Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Delaware and Connecticut, as well. Romney spoke with supporters in New Hampshire, as the polls closed in New York, focusing his remarks on the November election and predicting President Barack Obama "would conduct 'a campaign of diversions, distractions and distortions.'" Seller reported the GOP turnout was light, Tuesday. Statewide, Romney led candidates Ron Paul, Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum by roughly 40 percent two hours after the polls closed.
