6 a.m.: Background Briefing with Ian Masters Inside breaking international and national news. A radio program featuring international and national news, expert guests, policy makers and critics with analysis and insight on national security, foreign and domestic policy, political, cultural and social issues. This program goes far beyond the headlines and deep under the radar to bring forward truths unheard in the American media.
7 a.m.: WGXC Morning Show: Bart Ziegler Bart Ziegler, one of the organizers of the Second annual Roe Jan Ramble bike tour, which will take participants down rural roads in Ancram, Copake and Hillsdale, discusses the event. The event, sponsored by the three towns, will raise funds to help extend the Harlem Valley Rail Trail from Copake Falls to Hillsdale. The tour will help the Harlem Valley Rail Trail Association, a volunteer, nonprofit group, raise funds to pave a section of the rail trail south of Anthony Street in Hillsdale’s hamlet. The money will be combined with a grant of $375,584 awarded last fall for that purpose by the New York State Department of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation. Plus, more on local bikes, including a segment about electric-assisted bikes and their benefits by Ed Fertik. The "WGXC Morning Show" features other local interviews, local news, regional events, music, and more. At 8 a.m. "Democracy Now!" live from Manhattan, interrupts the proceedings. Tom Roe hosts from Wave Farm in Acra.
8 a.m.: Democracy Now! hosted by Amy Goodman and Juan Gonzalez. National, daily, independent, award-winning news program providing audiences with access to people and perspectives rarely heard in the U.S. corporate-sponsored media.
