Fall Fete, An Early 19th Century Tea

Sep 28, 2013: 2pm- 4pm
Vanderpoel House of History

16 Broad St. | Kinderhook, NY

A recreation of an authentic 19th Century Tea Party, Ladies in Regency-era dresses will spin around the dance floor to live music. Lavishly-displayed, dainty treats and fine teas will be served in the parlor. The tea party will, like its inspiration, include live music by historic band Salmagundi, and a dance caller will instruct the audience in English Country Dancing, which was popular at the time. Considerable research has also been done into creating historic treats that were savored by ladies in the early 1800s, and these will be stacked into tasty pyramids in the Vanderpoel parlor. Reservations are required. Call 518-758-9265 or e-mail library@cchsny.org
