Hudson Common Council reconsiders land deal

Joe Gentile writes in the Register Star the Hudson Common Council is now reconsidering its February decision to enter into a land transfer with Holcim US. The deal involved nine acres of waterfront property. Common Council President Donald Moore said Mon., Apr. 8, the company's refusal to compromise on various details has led to confusion and consternation. Moore said, “I have supported the land transfer, and still do, but I believe Holcim has not." Mayor William Hallenbeck Jr. urged caution, and requested the Council tread lightly as it moved toward a decision. The Council is expected to vote next week on a resolution to withdraw its authorization of the transfer. Read the full story in the Register Star.
