Leanne DeRosa is reporting for WRGB-TV SAT testing has resumed after tests were canceled over the spring and summer due to the COVID-19 emergency. Many high school seniors find themselves facing two scenarios. “Some of them said, I've done what I can, I'm done, others said nope, I really want to do this, this is something that was very important to me.” Patrick McNamara, the Executive Director of Sylvan Learning Center in Albany and Clifton Park said. McNamara says testing is still sporadic as testing sites adapt to new safety guidelines. As a result of the disruption in testing, McNamara says many schools have made testing optional for admission. Siena College has been test optional for five years now. Ned Jones, the Vice President for enrollment management says they are making sure students know that through their recruitment channels. He says Siena’s admissions office has already seen a huge shift in behavior of applicants. “Our test submitters are down 70 percent from last year.” He said. “And we have over 1,100 or 1,200 students who submitted their application already.” Read the full story at cbs6albany [dot] com.
