New York's tax revenues drop in first quarter

Michaela Kilgallen reports in Capitol Confidential that New York's tax collections came in $797.6 million less than previous year’s first quarter, according to a monthly cash report from State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli. “Personal income tax collections are off to a slower than expected start. The first quarter of the state’s fiscal year ended on a cautionary note,” DiNapoli said in a statement, noting a total of $19.8 billion was collected through March.
