Winter Storm Warning in effect until noon

The National Weather Service in Albany has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Columbia County. The warning will remain in effect until noon. The NWS is warning of heavy snow in eastern Columbia County. An accumulation of 7 to 12 inches is forecast, with snowfall rates of around half an inch per hour through early morning. The snow will remain steady and taper off during the mid- to late morning. Hazardous traveling conditions are expected. Some weakened tree limbs may succumb to the weight of the snow. North winds of 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph are expected.
