1 a.m.: Vital Weekly: Alessandra Novaga Episode 939 of weekly experimental new music show, by folks formerly behind Staalplaat. Click on title for playlist 939.
2 a.m.: FFFoxy Podcast: Tetuzi Akiyama On this episode (#38) of the FFFoxy Podcast, we sifted through loads of (mostly) new music that we have acquired in the past month or so. Lots of terrific tape releases this time around, of which we’re especially loving the dark thriller “soundtrack” work of Yves Malone, the hypnotic rhythmic throb of Safehouse, the bittersweet pop stylings of Marcus Rubio, the real-time cut-up otherness of Good Area, and the giddy footwork (?) of Foodman. We’ve also been spending a considerably amount of time listening to the debut release from Swimming In Bengal that contains mesmerizing Middle Eastern-tinged improvisations and to the double LP release from Valerio Tricoli that offers a refreshingly modern take on Musique Concrète composition. All said, we’re quite enamored with all of the artists and releases on this episode, so we hope you enjoy this one. Feel free to get in touch if you have any questions or comments.
