Kinderhook sewer referendum passes

Nathan Mayberg reports in the Register Star Village of Kinderhook voters approved a referendum 340 to 143 on Wed., Aug. 15, to allow approximately 35 property owners in its business district, including commercial and residential units, to connect with the village of Valatie sewage system. The estimated cost of extending the sewer lines from Valatie to Kinderhook will be more than $900,000, according to officials. Grants and donations will cover the majority of the expense, and the Kinderhook Village board will bond the remaining $231,000 of the cost. Read the full story in the Register Star.
