Murphy gets Independence Party line

Capitol Confidential is reporting that, "Republican Congressional candidate Chris Gibson’s hopes of contesting Democratic Rep. Scott Murphy for the Independence Party line have come to naught." “Very nice candidate, very nice man,” said Tom Connolly, vice chairman of the party’s executive committee, of Gibson. “But the committee decided to go with Scott Murphy, who is our candidate.” Kinderhook's Gibson will appear on the Republican and Conservative Party lines, and Murphy will be on the Democrat, Working Families, and Independence party lines in November's election to represent Greene and Columbia counties in the 20th District in New York.
