The National Weather Service has issued a Special Weather Statement for periods of snow and blowing snow through mid-morning. A fast-moving low pressure system will generate bursts of light to moderate snowfall across the region. Snowfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected through 10 a.m. across the Capital Region, eastern Catskills, Mid-Hudson Valley and the Berkshires. In addition, gusty winds will create areas of blowing and drifting snow. The combination of falling and blowing snow will occasionally reduce visibility to under one-half of a mile.
