The Shakers’ focus on community and being “in union” sometimes makes it easy to forget that the individuals that lived here had their own histories and, in some cases, baggage. Join us for a special tour of the Shaker cemetery as we bring to life the stories of some of Watervliet’s most influential and interesting residents. This tour will begin at the Shaker Heritage Society at the 1848 Meeting House and we will walk to the cemetery together, just over a quarter of a mile away. Limited parking is available near the cemetery.
