The free, adult, English as another language classes continue into the New Year, provided by the Hudson Team of Literacy Connections volunteers. These classes are held every week on Wednesdays from 6-8 p.m. and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to noon. Students who are unable to attend the classes, or who are fluent in English but desire additional help with reading and writing, can apply for the waiting list to be matched with a one-on-one tutor. There are other volunteer-provided English classes throughout the area, such as in Tannersville in Greene County, and Valatie in northern Columbia County.
