Steve Barnes is reporting for the Times Union Mexican Radio has listed its Schenectady property for sale, at the same time the restaurant remains open. The original Mexican Radio, which opened in Manhattan in 1996, closed in 2017. The Hudson location was closed in August 2019, after 16 years of business. The Schenectady space, comprised of three connected brick buildings at the corner of State Street and Broadway, covers a total of almost 28,000 square feet over three floors (two accessible to the public), plus a 3,000-square-foot patio area. The buildings were elaborately renovated, with an interior design and color scheme by Lori Selden, co-owner of the restaurant, along with her husband, Mark Young. The asking price on the property is $2.95 million, according to the listing. Selden and Young said the purchase and rehab cost more than $4 million. Selden did not immediately reply to a request for comment. News of the property going on the market was first reported by The Albany Business Review.
