New York investigating FaceTime app

Alfred Ng reports at CNet that New York Attorney General Letitia James announced a probe Jan. 30 into whether Apple failed to warn people about a security flaw that allows electronic easvesdropping over the FaceTime app. "New Yorkers shouldn't have to choose between their private communications and their privacy rights," James Tweeted. Callers using the FaceTime app could eavesdrop on recipients, even if the person receiving the call didn't pick answer the phone. A 14-year-old in Arizona discovered the security flaw while playing Fortnite on Jan. 19. The attorney general's office opened a hotline at 1-800-697-1220 to accept consumer complaints.
