Nov 21, 2018 1:30 pm
Amanda Purcell is reporting for Columbia-Greene Media a $55 million residential development plan to create 70 new housing units in Hudson is heading to the city Planning Board for review. The Hudson Housing Authority project will be constructed on one acre located at 41 North Second Street, and will consist of two four-story buildings. Construction is projected to begin in July 2019, and take two years to complete, Hudson Housing Authority Board President Alan Weaver said. The building at the corner of State and North Second will contain 36 units of senior housing with retail space on the first floor. The second building will hold 42 units for families. Both buildings would include a community center, laundry room and computer room. There is also the possibility of adding a day-care facility in the family housing building, or at Bliss Towers across the street, in the future. The project is supported by funding from a low-income housing tax credit, a low-interest loan from the state and a third source of financing to be determined. The Hudson Planning Board will meet 6 p.m., December 13, in City Hall. Read the full story at HudsonValley360 [dot] com.
