Village of Catskill adopts $4.39M 2014-15 budget

Kyle Adams is reporting in The Daily Mail without a work of public dissent or comment, the Catskill Village Board adopted its $4.39 million 2014-15 budget at an appropriations meeting, Tues., May 13. The spending plan calls for a 1.2 percent tax levy increase. The tax rate per thousand will increase seven cents to $22.27, or $7 per $100,000 of assessed value. Catskill Village President Vincent Seeley said the village realized notable savings this year by paying off debts, which helped offset rising costs in workers’ compensation insurance and employee benefits. Seeley said department heads have done an excellent job managing and keeping to their budgets. Over the next year, Seeley said, the village will be looking to partner with the town of Catskill on the Leeds sewer project as a long-term investment, as well as looking to clean up current revenue sources and to explore future income opportunities.
