The Daily Freeman reports that the unemployment rates for counties in the WGXC listening area all ticked up slightly from August to September. Greene County unemployment went from 7.8 to 8.3 percent, and Columbia County went from 6.8 to 7 percent unemployed. Ulster County rose from 7.7 percent in August to 7.8 percent in September, Dutchess County increased from 7.1 to 7.2 percent, and in Delaware County the jobless rate went to 8.1, up from 7.5 percent.
