Jason Cady
Jason Cady is a composer of dramatic vocal works and experimental chamber music who currently resides in Brooklyn, New York.
His one-act opera, Post-Madonna Prima Donna, and his cantata Odi Et Amo, received grants from the American Music Center. He currently is collaborating on a two-act opera buffa and comic book, which he calls a “phono-graphic novel.” The piece was presented as a work-in-progress at The Stone in February 2007.
Cady has an M.A. from Wesleyan University where he studied composition with Alvin Lucier and Anthony Braxton. His undergraduate study was in Interdisciplinary Arts and Performance at Arizona State University where he studied composition with Richard Lerman and Harold Budd, in addition to training in the visual arts.
