Trevor Alford reports in the Chatham Courier the Ghent Planning Board unanimously approved an expansion proposal for TCI New York, but opted to continue discussion of the plan to enlarge the Price Chopper at Chatham Plaza. TCI, located in West Ghent, disposes obsolete electrical equipment. The company plans to build a 3,500-square-foot office building and a new truck entrance located next to the existing entrance on Falls Industrial Park Road. The board also addressed aspects of the proposed expansion of Price Chopper. Store officials were asked to border the building with as many indigenous trees as possible to mask its appearance from the roadway. Price Chopper also agreed to build a sidewalk along the outside of the building, if all adjoining properties agreed to the installation. Read the full story in the Chatham Courier.
