Arthur Cusano is reporting in the Register Star the new Greenport Community Center will open June 16. The building located at 500 Town Hall Drive will house the police department on the first floor. The senior center and the community center will be located on the top floor at ground level to allow easy access. The smoke-free facility will also house a nutrition center, and provide space for meetings and a polling station. The center will offer nutrition information, wellness promotion, classes and information about community resources on a regular basis.
