Jimmy Vielkind reports at Capitol Confidential 43rd Senate District candidate, Democrat Robin Andrews, diverges from the Senate Democrats on two of their key priorities: Increasing the minimum wage and tightening the state's gun laws. Andrews, the Claverack Town Supervisor, is running against Saratoga County Clerk Kathy Marchione. Andrews told Vielkind she would support a minimum wage increase only if paired with help for small businesses. Andrews also said there are "too many" gun laws in New York. The majority of Senate Democrats supported microstamping. Microstamping is the process of stamping a unique identifying mark into each shell casing fired from a gun. Andrews opposes microstamping, saying it is not proven effective and is "very confusing." Read the full story at Capitol Confidential.
