Common Council hears first presentation about buying school for city offices

Oct 03, 2019 12:23 am
Amanda Purcell reports for Columbia-Greene Media that Hudson's Common Council heard a first presentation about the possibility of moving city offices into the former John L. Edwards Elementary School at a meeting Sept. 30 at the Hudson Library. The school is empty and up for sale for $3.9 million. City officials say they could sell several other buildings in desirable locations that could be used for businesses or housing, and consolidate services in the large school in the center of town. The building is large enough to host most city services, and perhaps also something like a day care center, or maker space, or apprenticeship class rooms. Architects at Lacey Thaler Reilly Wilson will be back before the Common Council at its Oct. 15 meeting to talk about the issue more. Read more about this story at HudsonValley360.com.
