Kolb drops out of election for governor

Jimmy Vielkind reports in Politico New York that two months after announcing his candidacy for New York Governor, Assembly Minority Leader Brian Kolb dropped out of the race Feb. 9, saying he wanted to spend more time with his family. The Republican would have faced, in the primary election, state Sen. John DeFrancisco (R-Syracuse) and Joel Giambra, a lobbyist and former Erie County executive. Kolb had received more endorsements from Republican leaders, than the other two candidates. Read the full story in Politico New York.
