Jimmy Vielkind reports in Politico New York that the governors of New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and New Jersey announced a consortium to share data on mental health, police warrants, and orders of protection Feb. 22 to prevent firearm purchases that might lead to bad outcomes. The states may need to enact specific legislation to block individuals from other states flagged in the database from buying firearms. Read the full story in Politico New York.
