Stageworks hosts the Mettawee River Theater. Drawn from the Archy and Mehitabel sketches of noted humorist and poet Don Marquis, Communications from a Cockroach follows the illustrious Archy, a cockroach who possesses the reincarnated spirit of a free-verse poet. Sharing his misadventures by jumping from key to key on Marquis' typewriter, Archy, Mehitabel (an alley cat with the soul of Cleopatra) and their low-life acquaintances face the humorous and bewildering challenges of the modern world.
