Woodstock Ave. set to open in late October

Jim Planck is reporting in The Daily Mail the end is apparently in sight for the long-awaited repair of Tropical Storm Irene’s damage to Woodstock Avenue, near the road’s northern intersection with Route 32A, in Palenville. The opening of the road, at least to pedestrian traffic, is now scheduled for Oct. 27, just in time for the annual Ragamuffin Parade. The difficult nature of the washout, limited seasonal access to Kaaterskill Creek, plus design and funding challenges made the repair project an ongoing concern for the Catskill Town Board for more than two years. Engineers involved in the project said work will continue even after the road is reopened to the public. Read the full story in The Daily Mail.
