Exit 3 to take cars directly to Albany airport
Jul 10, 2019 12:43 am
Eric Anderson and Mike Goodwin report in the Albany Times Union that a new exit from Interstate 87 will open to take cars directly to Albany International Airport by the end of the year, state officials announced on July 9. A sign erected on the highway in 1971 said Exit 3 was "to be built," and that will be true at the end of 2019 when Exit 3 opens. The new overpass will carry northbound cars over the interstate to Albany Shaker Road. Southbound, Exit 4's off ramp will connect to old Wolf Road. Right now, the airport is undergoing almost $100 million in improvements, including a new 1,000-car parking garage. Read more about this story in the Albany Times Union.
