Murell lists ten priorities for 2019

Jeanette Wolfberg reports in The Columbia Paper that Columbia County Board of Supervisors Chairman Matt Murell (R-Stockport) listed his top ten priorities for 2019 with the newspaper. His list:
• 1) Columbia-Greene Community College has lost some funding, is in the midst of a construction project, and lacks a president, with Supervisor Maria Lull (R-Chatham) on the presidential search committee.
• 2) There is a subcommittee working on the short-term lodging issue.
• 3) Establishing cancer benefit insurance for firefighters.
• 4) Completing the Galvan Civic Motel, for the homeless.
• 5) Working on the Emergency Training Center in Ghent for firefighters and EMS workers.
• 6) Working with Greene County on the opioid abuse crisis.
• 7) Shared services.
• 8) Preparing the sewer line from the Commerce Park in Ghent to the Greenport treatment plant.
• 9) Upgrading roads and bridges.
• 10) Keeping the tax rate stable.
