Stewart International name to change, a bit

The Associated Press is reporting the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey announced February 22, Stewart International Airport will be renamed New York Stewart International Airport. The rationale behind the renaming is to emphasize the hub's location an hour north of New York City, while satisfying the descendants of Archie Stewart, the airport's namesake. Stewart's daughter contested an earlier version of the new name. The name change is part of an approved $37 million upgrade to the facility. The expansion is expected to create 140 jobs.
