The Daily Freeman reports that students are returning to college campuses beginning this week with “Moving In Day" Aug. 27 at SUNY New Paltz. There, 1,800 new students and 700 transfer students are moving in, some to a new residence hall. Transfer students arrive and there is orientation Aug. 26 at Bard College. Fall orientations also begin Aug. 26 at Columbia-Greene Community College. Most public high schools don't start until after Labor Day locally, which falls late, on Mon., Sept. 7.
