Rundown of COVID-19 testing sites in Capital Region

Bethany Bump is reporting for the Times Union on COVID-19 testing sites in the Capital Region. Tests have become more available which has opened up the possibility of more testing. A number of sites opened in recent weeks; most require appointments and symptom screening to access. Bump provides a roundup of the region's testing sites with details. The University of Albany, at 1400 Washington Ave., is open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Drive-thru only; an appointment is necessary. Whitney M. Young Jr. Health Center at 920 Lark Drive, Albany, is open Monday through Friday, but the schedule varies from week to week. All testing is by appointment after symptom screening. Albany County mobile testing operates on a rotating schedule at different locations. All testing is by appointment after symptom screening. The Rite Aid at 1863 Central Avenue in Colonie, is open for in-car testing seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tests are by appointment only. Testing is available at no cost for eligible candidates who meet criteria established by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Community Care Physicians operates a testing clinic at Latham Health Park, Monday through Friday, for CCP patients. Non-CCP patients can obtain a doctor's order by visiting a CCP urgent care center. Priority 1 Urgent Care at 2080 Western Avenue in Guiderland administers tests Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m.to 6 p.m. Test kits at this location are limited, and are reserved for the group's patients. Ellis Medicine mobile testing is the newest site in the region. It serves underserved neighborhoods in Schenectady on a rotating basis each week. No call-aheads are required. The clinic at Glens Falls Hospital/Warren County Health Services provides drive up testing to residents of Warren, Washington, Saratoga, Essex and Hamilton counties only.
