Animalkind to rescue Furgary cats

Nathan Mayberg reports in the Register Star the last of the Furgary Boat Club residents are about to be evicted. More than 40 stray cats and kittens residing inside the fenced off area of the now former North Dock Tin Boat Association will be removed by Animalkind volunteers and provided shelter, according to Hudson Mayor William Hallenbeck Jr. The Mayor said Animalkind Director Katrin Hecker recently indicated that if the city did not act immediately, the cats could multiply beyond control. Before the club's eviction earlier this month, a member had been feeding and providing water to the homeless animals. Read the full story in the Register Star.
