The Daily Freeman is reporting two local theaters are among those showing “The Interview” as part of a limited nationwide release. The comedy, about an assassination plot against North Korean ruler Kim Jong Un, is being shown at the Hudson Movieplex in Greenport, and the Orpheum Theatre in Saugerties. The Hudson theater says on its website it will give a free popcorn “to anyone who comes to see ‘The Interview’ and brings a copy of the U.S. Constitution with them.” Sony Pictures Entertainment canceled the planned release after threats were made against theaters planning to show the film.
