Hudson Police Chief Edward Moore said the vacancy should not have a major impact on the department. “It’s (the commissioner’s role) a function of city government and we are grateful for the time and effort that Commissioner Harvey spent,” Moore said. The Commissioner of Police is the head of the city's Police Department, and serves at the pleasure of the mayor. Harvey was appointed commissioner in September, replacing Gary Graziano.
