Delgado denies using talking points, after using words similar to Pelosi on impeachment

Kerry Picket reports for the Washington Examiner that Rep. Antonio Delgado is largely mimicking what House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is saying about impeaching the president. On Sept. 27 Pelosi said, "This is a sad time for our country," and Oct. 2 at a town hall meeting in Rhinebeck Delgado said, "This is sad. It's a sad moment in this country's history." Previously Pelosi had written about "a grave new chapter of lawlessness" while Delgado, a Democrat representing the 19th Congressional District, said, "We are literally about to embark on something that does not happen all that often in our country's history. It's a grave, serious environment that we're in.” Both are mirroring Democratic talking points on the issue. But Delgado claims what he says are not talking points. “It’s not a talking point. I prefer you not call it a talking point. You’re attributing words to me," Delgado said. "I’ve used a host of different words. I’ve used 'sad.' I’ve used 'sober.' I’ve used 'serious.'” Read more about this story at the Washington Examiner.
