Crime in Dutchess County fell 30 percent from 2012 and 2016. "Although we are very encouraged by the overall downward trend in the crime index figures, Dutchess continues to be pro active in our commitment to aggressively hold offenders accountable and reduce violent crime," Dutchess County District Attorney William Grady said in a statement. Ulster County had a 33 percent drop in crime over the five-year period.
