Jim Planck reports in The Daily Mail a metal detector that has been in use for town court at the Catskill Town Hall now has a uniform policy determining who must pass through it. Officials have now determined all town employees, not simply those people entering the courtroom, must now pass through the magnetometer when court is in session. The town retains an off-duty Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy to monitor the building entrance, the metal detector and the interior courtroom entrance door to make sure no one walks around the device. The device was paid for by a Justice Court Assistance Program grant from the New York State Unified Court System.
