Land near Thruway exit eyed for development

William J. Kemble is reporting in the Daily Freeman the Greene County Industrial Development Agency is looking at properties near Thruway Exit 21 that would be suitable for attracting businesses. Agency Executive Director Rene VanSchaack said there are no specific parameters for the size of desired parcels but he would like to find enough land to interest hotel developers and corporations that would bring tourist attractions to the town. VanSchaack said the agency will seek to conclude environmental reviews and zoning approvals before new projects are found for any properties. He also said the Industrial Development Agency will work to make sure any business development does not create hardships for the community. Read the full story in the Daily Freeman.
