Spectrum News reports that on April 6, New York State expands eligibility for the COVID-19 vaccine to anyone age 16 and older. So far, the Pfizer vaccine is the only one approved for people age 16 and up, while anyone must be at least 18-years-old to get either the Moderna or the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. New York State has a website, with a link on the WGXC Newsroom, to sign up for the vaccine, that includes which vaccine is available at different locations. The New York Times reports that Pfizer has begun testing its COVID-19 vaccine for children under 12, with results expected in the second half of the year, with possible vaccinations of younger children early next year. Moderna is also starting a trial of its vaccine in children six months to 12 years of age. And both companies have been testing their vaccines in children 12 and older, with results expected in the next few weeks.
