CMH contracts out emergency care services

Parry Teasdale reports in the Columbia Paper Columbia Memorial Hospital has announced it has contracted with Emergency Medical Associates, a private company, to provide emergency care services. The hospital said in a press release the New Jersey-based group is a private organization made up of physicians and administrators. It provides emergency medical services in New York state, New Jersey, Rhode Island and North Carolina. EMA provides services to the hospital’s Rapid Care Center in Valatie and St. Peters Health Care Services in Albany. The Columbia Memorial Hospital emergency department had more than 34,000 visits last year. It is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Read the full story in the Columbia Paper.
