Germantown considers larger business district

Jun 25, 2013 6:44 am
Debby Mayer reports in the Columbia Paper the Germantown Town Board is contemplating changes to the town's zoning laws to extend the area of town zoned for small, low-impact businesses. Current zoning allows for mixed use on Main Street to the intersection with Church Avenue. The extension would go on to Hover Avenue, which is currently zoned for residential use only. The town's Economic Development Committee made the recommendation to the Town Board in May. “The Committee believes this extension is warranted and economically beneficial to the town,” they wrote. The change has been approved by the Planning Board. A public hearing on the matter will be held July 22. Read the full story in the Columbia Paper.
