Roswell Rudd on 'The Jazz Disturbance'

[caption id="" align="alignleft" width="220" caption="Roswell Rudd, from Wikipedia."][/caption]Kerhonkson resident Roswell Rudd will be the guest on "The Jazz Disturbance" with Cheryl K, Thursday, Oct. 6 from 7-9:30 p.m. on WGXC. The trombonist will be appearing at Club Helsinki Hudson, 405 Columbia St. in Hudson, the next day, Friday, October 7, to play with trumpeter Steve Bernstein for his 50th birthday with Sex Mob and guest keyboardist John Medeski. Rudd is known primarily for his work in free and avant-garde jazz (performing with Carla Bley, Don Cherry, Archie Shepp), but has extended his musical range through and to World music. He graduated from Yale University and later taught music-ethnology at Bard College and the University of Maine. His latest release is "The Incredible Honk" on Sunnyside Records.
