Village board schedules public hearings

Jun 27, 2019 1:00 pm
Emilia Teasdale is reporting for The Columbia Paper among the issues discussed at the June 12 Kinderhook Village Board meeting was a plan to apply for two grants with the village of Valatie. One grant would finance creek resiliency work along Kinderhook Creek. The second is a revitalization programs for areas along the creek in both villages. The village board is also submitting grant applications to replace the water main on William Street and to replace the village water meters. The board also set public hearings on two different matters for its July meeting. One measure would change a local law on parking regulations in the business district and would not require hotels to have off-street parking as well as change the restrictions on parking near the village square. The parking limit is now 15 minutes. The new regulation will change that to 24 hours. The second hearing scheduled will be to receive public comment on a reduction in the speed limit on a portion of Albany Avenue, from 30 mph to 25 mph. The Albany-Hudson Electric Trail will be on the road in that section, with walkers and bicyclists sharing the road with cars. The Kinderhook Village Board will meet 7:30 p.m. on July 10, in the Village Hall. The public hearings will start at 7 p.m. Read the full story in The Columbia Paper.
