Diane Pineiro-Zucker is reporting for the Daily Freeman Judge Aiesha L. Hudson, a state administrative judge, has revoked the license of Kingston barber Joseph LaLima who continued to cut hair last year in violation of the state's COVID-19 restrictions and then tested positive for the illness. The 25-page ruling, issued May 24, Hudson, said LaLima can no longer operate his barber shop on Broadway in Kingston, nor can he cut hair anywhere in New York state. The opinion cited LaLima's “untrustworthiness and incompetence,” when revoking his privileges after “practicing barbering while having an infectious or communicable disease” and for “failing to comply with Governor Andrew Cuomo’s executive orders.” LaLima told The New York Times last year that he was cutting hair in his home, at the rear of the Broadway building, but not in the shop itself.
