While two months is not much of a sample size, the Federal Communications Commissions enforcement of pirate radio stations so far in 2012 shows fewer actions then this time in last year. There were 21 actions so far: no raids, six visits, and nine letters in the mail, four NAL for $65,000 and two fines for $11,000, according to DIYmedia's FCC Enforcement Database. Actions have taken place in just a few locations: Florida (6), California (4), Massachusetts (4), New York (4), Louisiana (2), and Colorado (1).
